An "I'm thankful for you" meal

Sometimes we just need to be reminded that someone is thankful for us.

Thankful that although we get frustrated with each other, see each other at our worst, and are learning how to do extra-at-home-life-together, we are thankful that God made us a family. Thankful for each other's unique gifts, personalities, and perspectives. Thankful for every mountain top and every valley we get to walk together. Thankful for each others voices and smiles and even tears. Thankful that God has given us the honor of loving one another, forgiving one another, and cheering each other on.

I roasted a small turkey (it smelled like Thanksgiving in our kitchen!), planned three simple side dishes, a family-favorite-apple-cobbler for dessert, and set the table with "thankful for you cards". We went around the table affirming one another with words of love and the many reasons we are thankful for each person. Comforting. Settling. Refreshing. Healing. Just an extra reminder to these bright  eyes around my dinner table, that I'm thankful for them. Every day. So very thankful.
