Rendell Family Visit

One of the hardest parts of these military moves (over a dozen) is saying good-bye to close friends. On the flip side, one of the blessings is when those friends come to visit you on the other side of the globe.

I remember the first time I met Michele. Actually, our first meeting was through email or phone. I can't remember. We had both recently moved onto MacDill Airforce Base and the Rendell family was starting a student-lead-Bible-study for homeschoolers. The kiddoes and I walked down our street, knocked on their front door, and were greeted with the most welcoming smiles from Michele, her two boys, Caleb & Ethan, and their very excited-to-meet-us Goldendoodle, Aspen. The rest is history, as we develop a wonderful friendship during our time in Florida... Michele and I met for a summer Bible study with a few other friends, we spent hours at the park after homeschool gym class talking, planning, and solving the world's problems (*smile*), enjoyed fellowship during homeschool mom dinners, shopping at an outlet mall north of Tampa, and she helped me with Savannah's surprise 13th birthday party. Great memories that I will always cherish.

During their visit  to Germany, we traveled to the Black Forest, Ludwigsburg Palace, and a ropes course. We laughed a lot, played games, ate, and spent hours on our backyard patio talking as couples. The kids went to the park, played cards, and hide-and-seek in the dark. Having the Rendell family here, was a reminder that the Lord places us where He wants us for a reason and purpose. Nothing happens by accident. Every house and neighborhood is by God's design. I'm grateful for His hand in weaving authentic, life-giving, godly friendships that make our life so rich. Until we meet again!
