June - Part 2 - Mommy/daughters road trips to South Carolina & Savannah, Georgia
One of the best adventures of the summer was a girl trip to South Carolina, to spend time with some of our besties who just built the most beautiful home on a lake; surrounded by enormous trees, the sounds of birds singing, and graceful deer walking across their property. Breakfast on the porch felt like staying at a “retreat".
Brenna baked delicious zucchini bread for us, Cora gave fluffy Max as many cuddles as possible, we were able to worship with their new church family, and catch up with hours of talking (that’s what happens when moms & daughters get together with friends!). Cora also felt pretty special to hold Bradley's hockey stick (he's her buddy) and we are cheering for him as he competes this season!
Alisa stayed in South Carolina, to spend a few epic summer vacation weeks with Brenna, and I took my "booked ends" to the historic city of Savannah, Georgia! It was pretty special to see my Savannah's beautiful name all over such a lovely city and to know that Papa Prescott grew up there. The mossy trees and misty rain made a canopy around Forsyth Park. We twirled in the rain, admired the old architecture, went thrifting, ate brunch at The Collins Corner, and are already planning a trip back with friends!
