Thanksgiving 2020

Thanksgiving is always one of my most favorite days of the year. Actually, the whole week preparing and planning and cooking. Keeping a thankful basket. Crafting with my littles. Preparing our home for a feast. And, somehow these pictures have gotten jumbled in terms of time, but they are each a piece of what I’m thankful for; the most amazing husband and children who no matter where we are stationed on the globe, give me the best reasons to be thankful!

Turkey kisses, felt feathers, and lots of glue! Thanksgiving love & laughter 2020!

Nearly four hundred years later, we who are the beneficiaries of their sacrifice “pause” at the end of the harvest season to celebrate a day of Thanksgiving. There are many lessons to learn from their story, but they all come back to faith. The Pilgrims sailed to America because of their faith. They wrote the Mayflower Compact based on God’s Word and signed it by faith. They persevered in the harsh climate because of their faith. They befriended Native Americans because of their faith. Their uncompromising belief in God’s Word became the cornerstone of the colony and in turn of the new nation.

William Bradford wrote in 1623: “We have noted these things so that you might see their worth and not negligently lose what your fathers have obtained with so much hardship.”

May we Americans remember every Thanksgiving the rich legacy we have been given, as we gather together to give thanks.
